Jo to go? Destination Newcastle?
It has been reported on The Daily Mail that the out of favour Citizen striker Jo is probably on the move to the Toon on loan.
After netting just once in nine appearances for the Sky Blues, it is no surprise that critics are claiming that the record-breaking £18 million move has not paid off.
There have been numerous reports that say Eastlands is looking to dispose of the player, who has almost become a liability, due to his inability to settle down and prove that his price tag is equivalent to the firepower he provides. Add this to the fact that he has to wait in line behind Benjani and Sturridge to get his chance. Top this with the imminent arrival of Roque Santa Cruz, and we have a nice little recipe for a transfer move.
Presently, the Brazilian has been linked with a loan move to the striker starved Tyneside. While an exchange for Newcastle keeper Shay Given cannot be ruled out, a move such as this may not be in the best interests of the Toon. With the problems the ex-CSKA Moscow player has faced, the Magpies will undoubtedly want to give the 21-year-old a test run up front before shaving him off the club from the eastern side of Manchester.
