Man U sit clear at the top!

Manchester United emerged clear leaders in the Premier League table after a 1-0 victory over West Ham yesterday. With a two point lead and one game less over Liverpool, Man U are on course to win an 11th title. Sunday’s game bought cheers to the club when Ryan Giggs scored in the 62nd minute to seal the fate for West Ham. This also marked their seventh away win in the league this season.

Man U’s chances have been further brightened by the other teams in the league falling downwards. Chelsea and Arsenal lost footing when they had goalless draws against Hull city and Tottenham respectively. The two teams now stand at fourth and fifth spot while Aston Villa moved into third spot. Aston are five points away from the defending club and have also had seven away wins this season.

Arsenal continued their bad showing as they could only draw one point from the Spurs match on Sunday. The Gunners didn’t benefit from Robbie Keane’s return and had Emmanuel Eboue sent off in the 37th minute. The ten man side tried their best to break the jinx of persistent ‘draws’ but couldn’t and ended with one point again.

Other news making the rounds on the Premiership League this weekend include rumors that Portsmouth manager Tony Adams has been sacked owing to the teams bad showing recently. Adams had taken charge on 28th October and since then Pompey have won two of their 16 Premiership matches.
