Sacking Scolari to Revive Slacking Chelsea?

Following the draw against Hull City at the Bridge over the weekend, and considering the dwindling performances that has plagued the Chelsea squad for some time now, the rumour that was doing the rounds recently has been confirmed by the club, as they announced that Luiz Felipe Scolari has been given the pink slip.

The Red Devils gave them a 3-goal drubbing in a most emphatic fashion, leaving the visitors red faced. Then followed some unconvincing performances where the Pensioners struggled to get past a spirited Stoke, after which the loss at Anfield made a serious dent to their hopes of winning the title this season. To sum up the past few outings, the Tigers then held them to a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge sending them to fourth place, seven points behind the league leaders, who still have a game in hand.

It appears that the boardroom boys decided to go into the damage control mode that had but one option written all over it. Big Phil had to make way for a manager more capable of handling the duties at the West London club.

Ray Wilkins, the assistant manager, will be in charge on a temporary basis until a suitable candidate has been chosen to replace the former Portugal coach.
