Inter (0-0) Manchester United: Even Steven At The San Siro

Manchester United travelled to the fashion capital of Europe to face the most fashionable team in the Serie A this season, and neither side emerged triumphant after a game of two halves. The teams will now meet again at the inimitable Old Trafford, where the atmosphere will be nothing short of electric.

The Red Devils started the game under the pretension that they were the home side, and for some unfathomable reason, the Nerazzurri decided to play along. For the first 45 minutes, the game appeared to move only one way, and the real home side appeared to be in deep trouble as the men from Manchester were dominating the game by playing in the attacking third of the field with a lot of purpose. However, Julio Cesar was in top form for the Big Grass Snake as he produced a few saves that were right out of the top draw. If not for the wall between the posts, United were sure to have scored in the first half of the game.

During the break, Mourinho made a change to the line-up by substituting Rivas due to his defensive errors, which was giving the visitors a decisive advantage. Cordoba came in place of the younger Columbian defender, and the experience immediately showed as la Beneamata began to grow into the game.

Although the crowd was behind Inter as they were beginning to play some decent football, Van der Sar had little to do throughout the game, and it ended with the honours being shared.

The red half of Manchester will play host to Mourinho and his men in two weeks time, after which only one team will continue to dream of European glory.
