Manchester United book a date to Rome

Cristiano RonaldoA magnificent display of football saw English side Manchester United defeat fellow country club Arsenal to enter the finals of the Champions League. The defending champions inched closer as they played stunning football at the Emirates and outclassed the Gunners 1-3 to aggregate 1.4 in the semi finals.

United showed their class from the beginning itself as they went 0-2 up within the first 15 minutes of the match. Ji-Sung Park fired a close range shot in the 8th minute and Ronaldo followed it up three minutes later with a 40 yard free kick. The star player was the third goal scorer for the Manchester side as he fired one in past keeper Manuel Alumina in the 61st minute.

Van Persie was the one to win back some respect for his side as he scored for Arsenal in the 76th minute. But other than that, it seemed to be a perfect night for the defending Champions. The only hiccup they faced was when Darren Fletcher was sent off in the16th minute on charges of fouling Cesc Fabregas who was racing for the goal.

Arsene Wenger, Arsenal Boss has promised an improved performance from his team after the first leg had been won by Man United 1-0. But that was not to be as the latter were too good to be tamed. United will now face the winner of the second semi finals between Spanish club Barcelona and London club Chelsea.
