Another round in the most formidable league in the world comes to an end with some strong performances from the sides that are among some of the best in Europe.

Manchester United are now within four points of yet another Premier League title after they won by two goals over their immediate rivals, Manchester City. The seventeenth minute saw Ronaldo score one of his trademark goals. But Tevez, who scored just before halftime, stole the thunder and glory that usually goes with this encounter. The Argentinean had acknowledged that his future was in all probability drifting away from the red half of Manchester, but this goal combined with his celebration may just tip the scales in his favour. Being a fan favourite will go a long way in helping his cause of being a permanent name in Red Devils squad.

The story at London was a sad one for Arsenal, who were trumped by Chelsea at the Emirates. Alex and Anelka struck for the Pensioners, who were in command of the game most of the time. An own goal by Toure added to the misery, as the Gunners were being gunned down in their own backyard. Bendtner pulled one back for the hosts, but it came a little too late, and the Blues party continued as Malouda added the icing on the cake by scoring the fourth goal late on.
