Odds in favour of Chelsea to lift the FA Cup

Chelsea will be looking to pull out all the tricks out of the bag and give the perfect farewell to Boss Guus Hiddink by lifting the FA Cup. The Dutchman has provided the stability to the Blues that have not known for a long time. And now they seem all set to life the FA Cup after a year’s gap. There has also been good news on the injury front as Frank Lampard is available to play.

But things are not as easy as they are being made to look. They are up against a formidable side in Everton. Everton is playing at its best this season and have had some very good matches both in the FA Cup and in the Premiership. They held Man United to a goalless match and then beat them in penalties to read the finals of the Cup. They have had a drought of trophies for some time and will be hunting for the silverware now.

Both these teams have faced off twice in the Premier League this season, both matches were goalless draws. The Toffees have gone to declare that this is the best Everton side ever but the Blues have also stuck together as a group under Hiddink. The former have some good players in midfielder Tim Cahill who knows the tactical play of Hiddink having played under him. Star player Phil Jagielka is another one to watch out for.

Chelsea, on the other hand has only had one defeat under Hiddink in their last 21games. This is enough of a morale booster. They beat the out of form, Arsenal to reach the finals but have been sticking together as a defensive side off late. Anelka and Lampard are the star guys to watch out for. Essien and Drogba are other two lads who can show the class in their feet. The blues side is a balanced act and can pull off a victory if things go well.

When the two meet at the Wembley tonight, it should be a fair and square competition with little to give between the two. Chelsea, though are more tactical and might be able to show better defences than Everton. If Everton are able to pull off a 0-0 till final whistle, then they might clinch it on penalties. But if Chelsea scores, then there is nothing stopping them.
