Real Madrid Pounce On Ronaldo!
One of the things that has happened season after season with due diligence is the fact that Cristiano Ronaldo is linked with Spanish giants Real Madrid. But nothing concrete has ever come of it, until now.
The rumours have been confirmed, as Manchester United have officially released a statement saying that they have received an offer to sell Ronaldo to Real for a price of £80 million. This is the highest price that a player has been sold for, in the entire history of football.
A deal of this magnitude has been accepted since the player asked to leave the club yet again, and will be leaving United to swoop on an adequate replacement for the infamous number 7. It will be interesting to see who is handed the legendary number 7 shirt, as it is now a part of the folklore of the red half of Manchester. Players like George Best, Eric Cantona, David Bekham, and recently Cristiano Ronaldo, have taken to the pitch with this number on their back. It will be a huge number to fill for Sir Alex.
Elsewhere, present and former team-mate from Sporting Lisbon, Nani, has said that the departure will not be a gaping hole in the Manchester based club’s line-up, since he believes that there are other players who can replace him.
As Real have been given permission to talk to the player, it is said that the talks will conclude by the end of the month, after which the Portuguese player will be donning a white shirt and calling the Bernabeu home.
