Confederations Cup Results, World Cup Odds And Where The Big Players Are Moving
Hands up if you were cheering on the USA against Brazil in the Confederations Cup Final…… I was too. It would have been great to see an upset and despite Brazil getting themselves the win in the end it was still a great show from the USA to end Spain’s record equalling run without a loss and then to go 2-0 up against Brazil
Many thought the two teams to take out of the Confederations Cup would be Brazil and Spain, who are the joint favourites to win the World Cup, but it actually looks to be USA and hosts South Africa.
USA are now as short as 40/1 to lift the World Cup sixteen years after they hosted it but you can still sneak a bit of value, one bookie still offers 100/1! They look to be an improving outfit and if they can keep progressing they should be capable of at least reaching in a World Cup Final in the next decade.
South Africa have home advantage next year and only went down to Spain in extra time in the third place playoff. They should not be underestimated and they can be backed at 100/1 with one bookie. Don’t forget that South Korea reached the semi final of the World Cup when they hosted back in 2002, South Africa can do even better!
England will have a much better chance of winning a World Cup when they next host it and the good news for English fans is that they are odds on with the bookies to host the 2018 World Cup and surely you’ll get World Cup Odds in all the best places!
It’s now officially silly season in the world of transfer gossip with the window having officially opened this week. Let’s see where the bookies think the top players are going this summer:
Karim Benzema had been very strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid all week and on Wednesday SkyBet cut their odds of Benzema joining the Galacticos from 7/1 into 1/7, on Wednesday evening it was confirmed that Benzema was joining Madrid. The bookies tend to know these things early on so it is worth looking at their odds.
The player Man Utd fans want to replace Ronaldo is Franck Ribery (not Antonio Valencia who they have now signed!) so where is the French winger going to end up? Real Madrid are 10/11 to sign him, Bayern Munich are 13/8 to keep him and Man Utd are 7/2 to snap him up. Unlucky United fans, looks like you have missed out!
According to the bookies Cesc Fabregas is staying put at Arsenal but team mate Emmanuel Adebayor is on his way to AC Milan, Carlos Tevez is certain to sign for Man City and it now seems Samuel Etoo will be staying at Barcelona but Man City are still his most likely destination should he move.
What about two injury prone strikers who have their best years behind them? Well Michael Owen is most likely to join Everton (upsetting Liverpool fans by doing so) but he could still link up with Emile Heskey at Aston Villa whilst Ruud Van Nistelrooy is still likely to be at Real Madrid next season but if he moves it will be to Spurs.Take a look around at all the differnt offers Bookmakers have before you put the money down!
