Liverpool or Real: Where is Ribery headed?

There are too many rumours floating around about Franck Ribery’s transfer from Bayern Munich. While earlier reports stated that his deal with Real Madrid was almost finalised, the new rumours allege that the French star is being wooed by Rafael Benitez for Liverpool. Some news suggested recently that Bayern were not willing to let Ribery go to Real and the latter were going to end their interest for the player. but when the Spanish club admitted a few days back that they might not be able to persuade Munich to let go off the star player, doors were opened for Chelsea and Manchester United to grab a deal. But with news that Rafa has picked up an interest in the former Marseilles player, who knows he might be headed to England after all.

Real general director Jorge Valdano suggested that Bayern were talking off figures as high as ₤70 Million which were too high for any club to match. He also claimed that the German club might be keen to keep the French star for another year and thus stating huge amounts was a way of saying ‘no’.
