Chelsea secure easy win over AC Milan
Carlo Ancelotti marked a redemption of sorts as he beat his former team, AC Milan on his debut with Chelsea. This friendly match was a part of the US Tour of the Blues who now move on to Dallas to play Club America. Debutant Yiru Zhikov scored for the London club as they defeated the Italian side 2-1.
Didier Drogba was the opening scorer at the packed M&T stadium, Baltimore when he put one in the 7th minute. Andrea Pirlo scored to level in the 19th minute. Zhirkov’s 69th minute strike did justice for his ₤18m signing this season. It couldn’t be a better pre-season start, both Terry and Ancelotti could ask for.
In other encounters, Macnchester United beat FC Seoul 3-2 at their home ground. On a Korean tour, the hosts played determinately and held the Premier League champions 2-2 for long before Dimitar Berbatov scored the decider. In another friendly, Tottenham Hotspurs held Barcelona 1-1.
