Aston Villa 0 – 2 Wigan Athletic Highlights – August 15 – Latics Latch Onto Three Points!

Roberto Martinez got off to a brilliant start as the manager of Wigan Athletic by securing all three points away from home at Villa Park.

Hugo Rodallega’s strike around the half-hour mark may be one of the contestants for the goal of the season, and it took the Latics into the lead.

Villa looked to attack at every given opportunity, but it never really reached fruition and eventually they went down by another goal in the second half. N’Zogbia went into an exploratory run through the middle, which resulted in a superb lay-off to an onrushing Koumas who easily sent the ball home.

At full time, the Latics had finished with a positively brilliant start to the season and took all three points.
