Chelsea win at Fulham to go second in Premier League

Chelsea have continued their good start to the Premier League campaign by defeating Fulham 2-0 at Craven Cottage. Chelsea dominated the game but Fulham put up a dogged resistance against their London rivals.

Their resistance was broken down in the 39th minute though. Frank Lampard picked up the ball, passed it to Nicolas Anelka who found his strike partner Didier Drogba 12 yards out and the Ivory Coast international fired home.

Chelsea had the better of the second half and looked likely to double their lead. However they had to be patient and their second goal came in the 76th minute. Didier Drogba this time turned provider passing to French international Anelka to fire pass Mark Schwarzer low in to the bottom of the net.

Fulham looked toothless in attack without striker Andrew Johnson, who is out injured and never really looked like troubling the Chelsea defence. However for new Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti it’s the perfect start to his managerial career at Stamford Bridge.
