Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Birmingham City: Late Lennon Winner Saves The Day

Birmingham City almost achieved a commendable result at White Hart Lane, but let their concentration drop slightly when the game was deep into stoppage time, thereby allowing Aaron Lennon to score and maintain the Lilywhites’ 100 per cent record in the Premier League.
Spurs were the dominant force in the first half and were unlucky to have gone away without bagging one before the break. But substitute Peter Crouch gave his side the go-ahead goal after being denied on numerous occasions. But the equaliser came three minutes later, when a high ball fell to Lee Bowyer, who competently sent the ball home from close range.
As the game appeared to be heading towards a stalemate, Roman Pavlyuchenko took the ball from Stephen Carr and eventually found Lennon, whose left footed shot was superbly driven into the bottom corner, winning the game in the process.
