Fulham secured their second Premier League win of the season by beating struggling Everton 2-1 at Craven Cottage. Everton had the better of the first half without looking really threatening. They did however take the lead in 33rd minute through a trademark header from midfielder Tim Cahill. The first half petered out and Everton went in with a comfortable first half lead.

Fulham came out like a different team in the second half. They looked livelier and Everton decided to sit on their lead. This tactic backfired and in the 59th minute Paul Konchesky’s low effort from the edge of the penalty area taking a heavy deflection off Sylvain Distin’s boot and completely wrong footing Tim Howard in the Everton goal.

Fulham continued to push forward as there was more bad news for Everton as captain Phil Neville was stretchered off. He was replaced by Everton new boy John Heitinga. Fulham continued to look the more likely and in the 79th minute they got their reward. Winger Damien Duff cut inside Leighton Baines and fired past Tim Howard in the Everton goal.

The result means Everton still only have three points from four Premier League games. Last season’s cup finalists have had an awful start to the season and will have to improve soon if they are to challenge for a European spot again this season. Fulham meanwhile will be glad of the three points as they look to get their season back on track.
