Stoke City 1-2 Chelsea: Late Win For The Blues

Chelsea had a stern test of the physical game at the Britannia Stadium, before taking all three points away from home to maintain their 100 per cent record in the Premier League this season.

James Beattie succumbed to injury early on, but the Potters remained resolute and got a goal in the first half, thanks to a good header by captain Abdoulaye Faye. Thomas Sorensen had to be substituted close to half-time, and this instantly put things in a different perspective for the Pensioners.

A fantastic ball by Frank Lampard found Didier Drogba, who made no mistake in putting the game back on terms during the dying moments of the first period.

The game was well fought throughout the second-half, with the home side using the pressing tactic that yielded rich dividends for the most part.

However, with only a few moments before the referee brought the proceedings to a close, Florent Malouda scored in the last minute to break the hearts of the hosts and send the west London club to the pole position on the league table.
