United v City 4-3 Owen saves the day for United
Michael Owen’s goal at the far end of extra time won a thrilling encounter for Manchester United. Playing Manchester City at Old Trafford, the match had all the makings of a classic as the Premiership Champions won 4-3. Owen came on as a substitute for Dimitar Berbatov in the last few moments of the six minutes of extra time.
The match was a kicker right from the word go. Wayne Rooney started the festivities as he scored in the 2nd minute but Carlos Tevez set up a very good chance for Gareth Barry to score in the 16th to equalise. Soon after half time, Darren Fletcher hit a header to put United in the front again. But an exciting 25 yard kick by Bellamy gave City the second equaliser of the match. Fletcher was in the limelight again as he scored a header in the 80th minute. But Bellamy scored in the 90th minute to equalise at 3-3.
Emotions ran high as six minutes of extra time was announced which is something not seen very often in football matches. And it was the six minutes advantage taken by Owen to seal the match for Man United and get them the 3 points.

what an exciting match. owens goal was spectacular
Omg, Gareth Barry’s finish into the bottom corner using his bad foot. =p
I don think it was 6 minutes of extra time, but it was taken that far. This is why it was Hughes who at the end was shouting on the officials for finishing of the game early.
Anyways, excellent match
