Giggs Guides Manchester United to a 2-1 Win Over Wolfsburg

Ryan Giggs GoalManchester United came from the behind and showed tremendous resilience to defeat Wolfsburg 2-1 at Old Trafford.

Ryan Giggs displayed yet another stunning show at the Theater of Dreams, as Sir Alex Ferguson’s men overcame a stiff hurdle from the German Champions.

Red Devils had a slow start and things got worse for them, as Owen had to be substituted by Dimitar Berbatov in the 20th minute of the game, after his groin injury (which he suffered during Sunday’s practice) got aggravated.

After a couple of chances went to begging for Manchester United, the score ended at 0-0 during half time.

It was only ten minutes into the second half when the German club did the inevitable by breaking the deadlock through a header from Wolfsburg’s Bosnian Striker, Edin Dzeko. Though Manchester United had the better of the possession, the goal didn’t come as a surprise, as Wolfsburg was attacking whenever they had the opportunity.

Not to be overawed by the situation, Manchester United fought back within four minutes from the first goal. Ryan Giggs hit his 150th goal for the club through a free kick that deflected of the wall past keeper Benaglio, who otherwise had an impressive game.

The game looked all set for a draw, but Giggs had other ideas. The Welshman presented yet another marvelous pass to Michael Carrick, who had no problems in making it 2-1 for the home team.

With 6 points from two games and their current form, Manchester United looks the team, which can go all the way in the Champions League.
