Team effort gives Arsenal victory over Rovers
Arsenal defeated Blackburn Rovers 6-2 in a thorough team effort in a Premier League encounter. Playing at The Emirates Stadium, The Gunners pulled off a superb performance with spirited goals with 6 different team members.
It was the Rovers who got off to a good start as Steven Nnonzi headed in a Paul Robinson free kick from 20 yards. Arsenal leveled in the 17th minute through Thomas Vermaelen. In the 30th minute, David Dunn gave Blackburn the lead again as he scored through a deflected shot. Robin Van Persie hit home through a close to the goalpost shot to level for the second time in the match.
Andrey Arshavin put Arsenal in the lead for the first time in the match and the scores remained at 3-2 till half time. Cesc Fabregas was in superb form and he kept the momentum going throughout the match. He was the one to stir the scorers in the second half as he slotted one in the 57th minute. Substitute Walcott, makinn an appearance after a long injury lay off got the start he needed as he put Arsenal 5-2 ahead.
In the last few minutes of the match, it was another substitutes turn to score as Bendtner thumped one in from close to the goal post. This win did a lot for The Gunners confidence and took them to the fourth spot in the Premiership Table.
