Real Madrid Slip to a 2-1 Defeat at the Hands of Sevilla


Sevilla WinReal Madrid felt the absence of Christiano Ronaldo, as they suffered a comprehensive 2-1 defeat at the hands of rivals Sevilla at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Sevilla lived up to the expectation of the players in Los Galácticos and completely outplayed the touring side. This loss not only took apart the 100 percent win record for Madrid, but it also got the home side level in terms of points with Manuel Pellegrini’s men on the league table.

Real went behind in the first half when Jesus Nevas headed a ball past Iker Casillas to break the deadlock. This 31-minute was believed to be a deserving goal for the home side, who kept up the pressure throughout the first half on Real Madrid.

Though Guti free kick in the 49th minute, which received the direction into the Sevilla net from a Pepe header, saw Real come back on level terms, but the pressure from Los palanganas was too much for them to handle. And when Sevilla scored the goal through another header from Renato, there was no way out for the visiting side.
