Standing after Group 3 World Cup Qualifying Matches

Czech V PolandThe Czech Republic got a 2-0 victory over Poland on Oct 10 in a home match at Sparta Stadium. The first half of the match was uneventful. In the first half goalkeeper, Peter Cech saved a closed one to one shot by Irenuesz Jelen in the 33 rd minute. After a few minutes, a goal was scored by Galatasaray forward, Milan Baros, was denied, as he was flagged with an offside signal.  

However, the Czech coach made an immaculate decision to introduce Tomas Necid in place of Papadopoulos at the half time. Necid proved that the coach’s decision was supreme and he went on to score a stunning opening goal of the match at 51st minute from a well-measured trough ball of Captain, Tomas Rosicky 

In the 73rd minute, Czech midfielder, Jaroslav Plasil, scored another goal for his team after picking the right- wing cross from Zedenek Pospech. In this match Poland coach, Stefan Majeski set his team by changing seven players from the last match squad but the team has failed to open the goalmouth. 

Though they secured their three points against Poland, they need a San Marino miracle on Wednesday to keep their hopes alive for a place in South Africa FIFA World Cup 10 as Slovenia have defeated Slovakia by 2 goals in the other group 3 WC Qualifier match.
