Given Saves the Day for Manchester City

Petrov Excited With His EqualizerShay Given came to the rescue of a 10-man Manchester City and helped Mark Hughes’ men to secure a point against Wigan at the DW Stadium.

Final minutes of the game saw Given made an excellent save, as he didn’t allow the home side to win the game, which they deserved from the Kick Off.

Charles N’Zogbia handed the lead to Wigan in the first half that saw the Eastlands defend poorly to some good offensive play of the home side. Petrov gave some relief to the City fans, as he scored within 65 seconds.

Life became difficult for the blues, when Pablo Zabaleta was shown the door by Alan Wiley for a poor tackle fifteen from time. However, stand-in skipper, Given, who recently played his 100th game for Republic of Ireland, made sure that his side came out of the game with at least one point by putting in a magnificent save, a minute from time.

Meanwhile, at Ewood Park, Big Sam (Sam Allardyce) was given an advanced birthday present by his men, as Blackburn Rovers came from behind to score a 3-2 victory over Burnley.
