Chelsea Trounced Rovers 5-0

Chelsea continued to hammer their opponents. After a 4-0 triumph over Athletico Madrid, the Blues annihilated Blackburn Rovers 5-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Things started on the wrong foot for the Rovers, as the home side went into the lead with an own goal from Gael Givet in the 19th minute. Ever since that, the game took a one-way traffic with a brace from Frank Lampard, a header from Didier Drogba and a stunner of a shot from Michael Essien.

With this win, Chelsea moved two points ahead of Manchester United at the top of the table. The Red Devils will play their game against Liverpool at Anfield tonight and would try to regain their top position from Chelsea yet again.

At White Hart Lane, in-form Spurs were shocked 0-1 by Stoke City when substitute Glenn Whelan scored in the final minutes of the game.

Elsewhere, Turf Moor saw the first defeat for Burnley, as Wigan came from behind to score a 1-3 victory.

Again, Wolverhampton secured a point through a late penalty from Ebanks-Blake that helped the home side to a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa at the Molineux Stadium.
