Liverpool Ends Losing Streak with 2-0 Win Over Premier League Champions

Liverpool made it 3-on-3, as they defeated Manchester United 2-0 at Anfield, their third consecutive victory over the Premiership Champions. This win allowed them not only to climb in the Premier League table, but also helped them stop their losing streak, worse in 2 decades.

Fernando Torres gave the Reds the early lead and scored his ninth of the season, as he came out of injury with a wonderful performance. The second goal, which eventually sealed the deal for the Reds, came in the injury time, as David Ngog took advantage of an open defense and went past Van Der Sar, who could do nothing to stop him.

The home side did suffer a set back in the injury time, when they were reduced to 10-man with Javier Mascherano shown the red card for a poor challenge on Van Der Sar. However, Red Devils were unable to make any use of this situation.

This win would come as a relief for Rafael Benitez, who was under immense pressure for his side’s poor performance. Now, they are back in the reckoning and may even show everyone that class never dies with a string of poor performance.
