West Ham manage to hold Arsenal -West Ham United 2-2 Arsenal

A valiant effort from West Ham saw them coming from two goals down to draw their Premier League encounter 2-2 with Arsenal last night. While Arsenal would have loved to win the match as they would’ve had a comfortable third position ahead of Tottenham in the table, West Ham still lie at the bottom end.

Robin Van Persie got the score ticking for Arsenal when he scored through a left pass in the 16th minute. As the Hammers continued their defensive play, The Gunners fired in their second goal when William Gallas headed in a Van Persie corner in the 37th minute. With a 2-0 lead, it looked smooth sailing for the home side in the first half.

But a defiant come back was seen but some field changes changed the scenario for the visitors. Diamanti replaced Noble in the 55th minute and Zola replaced a midfielder with a striker. Carlton Cole then scored from the spot in the 74th minute to give West Ham a glimmer of hope. But Diamanti’s free kick got them a well well deserved draw for the match. West Ham have still to win a match this season but can take solace from this draw.
