Manchester United Closes the Gap with Leaders Chelsea


Berbatov Ecstatic After GoalIt was a busy day with nine Premier League matches taking place throughout Saturday. Manchester United won their 8th match in the season against Blackburn Rovers and is now at the second spot in the league table with 25 points.

It was a good first half with Manchester United waving most of the attacks, but Rovers managed to keep the score line to 0-0. After the break, however, United pushed more and Berbatov found the net with a brilliant side revolving volley and Wayne Rooney sealed victory later on.

Meanwhile, Arsenal displayed their attacking depth with a strong squad and Samir Nasri featured after a long period following his injury. He was in the substitutes list though. Robin Van Persie found the first goal with a superb touch and Fabregas converted the next one with a brilliant shot. Fabregas’ earlier shot at the goal was brilliantly saved. Persie added a third one after half time and the victory was sealed. 

It was a day of red cards in the Premier League and the Stadium of Lights saw two red with Kenwyne Jones red carded for the hosts and the Hammers went two goals up through Guillermo Franco scoring the first one and Cole with the second goal. Andy Reid’s superb curling free kick earned a goal back for the hosts. They bounced back to score their second with Darren Bent and came to level terms with West Ham United after Radosav Kovac was sent off for the visitors later.
