In what seems to be becoming a habit, Manchester City drew their fourth successive Premier League match with a goalless encounter with Birmingham City. The hosts played some hard working football an created many chances, the best of them all being the penalty shot from James McFadden early in the second half. Man City keeper Shay given was on his toes and made a dive to his left to save the ball from going into the nets. Any chances that might have been created were also reduced to null for Birmingham as a second yellow for Barry Ferguson meant that they were left with a 10 men team.

There were two other chances that the hosts has early on the first half but the Eastlands squad keeper was up to the task. Man City had their chances with Carlos Tevez creating the first of those for Bellamy. Shaun Wright Philips had the second one when he hit a cross pass at the goal from 25 yards which was stopped by the defenders. Other than that, it was the Birmingham city strikers who managed to create more chances on the field than their more expensive compatriots.

Holding the Man city lot for a draw might have been a good effort from Birmingham but what they needed was to score some goals. With only eight goals so far, they are at the bottom of the league if they had managed to convert their goals today, it might have done their confidence a world of good.
