Bayern Munich 0-2 Bordeaux: Frenchmen go though to next stage

Bordeaux earned a 2-0 result at the Allianz Arena to cruise past Bayern Munich and ensure a place in the next round of the Champions League.

The visitors’ prowess at set-plays was evident throughout the game, as every time a decision went the French way, minor problems in the Bavarian box were never far away. As the game progressed, Bordeaux got the opening goal as Yoann Gourcuff broke free and headed the ball in from a free-kick.

With Franck Ribery sidelined through injury and Arjen Robben relegated to the bench, there was little creativity shown by the Bundesliga club.

The travellers sealed the victory through a goal in stoppage time, when Mourane Chamakh stoke the ball and skipped past the advancing goalkeeper to coolly knock it into the back of the net.

With this result, the Ligue 1 outfit have booked a place in the knock-out stage of the competition.
