Chelsea prevail in the battle of the Titans!

Chelsea scored the only goal of the match as they defeated former Champions Manchester United in a much awaited clash of the Premier League last night. John Terry was the scorer as he connected Frank Lampard’s free kick in the second half to win 1-0.

With this win, Chelsea have strengthened their reign at the top with an unprecedented 30 points. Manchester United stay at third place right next to Arsenal on same points of 25. Darren Fletcher was remarkable throughout the match and Wayne Rooney also picked up momentum after the second half. He had two very good chances but the blues’ defenders were better to the task.

The visiting team did put up a good performance with fighting football from Vidic and Ferdinand. Ryan giggs also had a close in chance but Petr Cech was alert in blocking it. But all efforts went in vain and Man United did seem to miss the excellent passing of Ronaldo and Tevez. The finishing of Ronaldo was surely the most missed factor with no one there to convert at the right minute.

Sir Alex Ferguson will now have to pull out something special from the hat or hope that the blues give up their current good form.
