Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez finally catches a break as he knew this week that he could count with Steven Gerrard and David Ngog to face Manchester City on Saturday.

The odds for this game can change a bid in any good sports book as these two players are available to play. Gerrard has been vulnerable for several weeks with a groin injury in the defeats against Fulham in the Premier League and Lyon in the Champions League.

Keep in mind striker Fernando Torres already sidelined with a groin problem.

“Gerrard is doing well. He finished a full training session today so, if he can carry on, then he’ll be okay. Fernando Torres is training with the physios so I don’t think he’ll be available”, said Benitez.

Steven Gerrard admits he has been frustrated to miss the big matches against Manchester United and Lyon, as well as clashes against Sunderland and Arsenal especially now that Liverpool is not performing at their best.

‘It’s never easy when you have to sit out games against Manchester United or trips away from home in the Champions League. Some of the lowest points in my career have come about when I have had to miss big games for Liverpool and England through injury”, said Gerrard.

Ngog, on the other hand, suffered a broken nose on France under 21 game this week. “I think he will be okay’, Benitez said.
