Arsenal successfully dealt with the home advantage, their impressive run, a comfortable victory and the leading position in Group H. As a result, the Gunners have qualified into the knockout stage of the Uefa Champions League being the group leaders. Two first half goals sealed it for the London club as they created a lot more.

Arsenal could have been a goal up in the 15th minute through Cesc Fabregas’ corner which had four Arsenal players Arshavin, Gallas, Vela and Vermalen attempts gone to waste through the woodwork and blocks. But moments later the visitors had a great chance but Dieudonne Mbokani fired past the crossbar. The Gunners also got reduced to nine men on the pitch in a nasty collision between Gallas and Arshavin which had the later off the pitch even during the 35th minute Arsenal goal through Samir Nasri.

Just in the added half time minute mark, Denilson received a ball from Keiron Gibbs and shot a dipper into the goal from 25 metres. Mikael Silvestre replaced Gallas after the break for the rest of the match. In the second half, the tempo was maintained through Theo Walcott who replaced Samir Nasri. But the visitors did not score even after a late threat from Mohammad Sarr.
