Finally Liverpool win in Budapest but it was a win too late for them as the UEFA Champions League dream is over in not the Uefa Europa league. This win was a partial requirement for Liverpool to qualify as the other part required a win for Olympique Lyon but their loss threw the Merseyside out of the competition.
It was again a massive ask for Liverpool without Fernando Torres and much onus lied upon the 20 year old Ngog and he scored at the 4th minute of the match from a headed ball by Jamie Carragher in a short corner for Liverpool. Liverpool had dominated the possession and was stretching the opponent goal on most occasions but Ngog later shot at Debrecen keeper, Poleksic from a Kuyt’s through ball after a bustling run.
Debrecen had a chance of scoring in the 33rd minute when Gergely Rudolf shot wide of goal and Ngog had yet another chance with a curled shot at the other end.
