Aston Villa were hosts to Tottenham in an exciting match in the Barclays Premier League where Villa was the first to score. The first half Villa goal came from Gabriel Agbonlahor just before the break but the visitors came back hard at the hosts and the Hotspurs Captain, Michael Dawson scored the equalizer and his first goal of this campaign. Villa did reside in the back foot under constant bombardment from Tottenham.

West Ham does find themselves out of the relegation zone with a 5-3 win over Burnley. The Irons were 3-0 up at half time with goals from Jack Collision, Junior Stanislas and Carlton Cole who converted from the penalty spot with ease. Guillermo Franco scored the fourth goal in about the 51st minute through a header and substitute Luis Jimenez scored another penalty for West Ham. Steven Fletcher scored a double and Chris Eagles scored the third for Burnley to draw some salvation.

Meanwhile Wigan Athletic has managed to keep aside the 1-9 devastating loss at the hands of Tottenham at bay and did manage to win by a solitary goal against Sunderland. Hugo Rodallega scored the solitary goal for the Lactics who barely threatened any time in the match.
