Chelsea is at the top and they are at the top for a reason. With wins already over Manchester United and Liverpool, it was to be seen what was in the kitty on 29th November Super Sunday. Chelsea were visitors to the Emirates and they showed that they are miles above Arsenal in quality and also points.

Arsenal was without Robin Van Persie but had other attacking options in the form of Arshavin and Eduardo. Chelsea had a near full squad with Lampard back in the side but it was Drogba again who scored the first goal. The initial 30 minutes of the first half produced great attacking and counter attacking football from both sides. But just on the onset of the 40 minute mark, skipper Terry moved ahead and passed the ball to Ashley Cole who moved through the left and curled a superb ball into the 6 yard box which found Drogba between Gallas and Vermalen.

Just four minutes later, when Arsenal’s deep defence had showed signs of lack of confidence, Ashley Cole found open space and curled another ball into the centre for Drogba but this time Thomas Vermalen hesitantly touched the ball only to find his own net. Chelsea was 2-0 up in those moments of magic. After the break, Arsenal pressed right from the word go but they were passing too much and lacked a proper set up in the final third. Chelsea however, did manage to hold them on until they had their own free kick in the 86th minute. Lampard and Drogba both settled behind the ball but Drogba finished with a neat shot which sent keeper Almunia on the wrong side at the first impression and established the dominance.
