Hotspurs denied victory at Goodison Park While Wolves register their first
Tottenham failed to retain or rather move to the third spot as they concede two late second half goals in the Super Sunday Barclays Premier League match. Tottenham went ahead into this match with the goal from Jermaine Defoe and then from Dawson at the early stages of the second half.
Tottenham has been in brilliant form of late and naturally they took the lead in the 46th minute through the dangerous looking Defoe who also troubled the Everton goal with another shot going inches outside the post as a result of a great ball in from the Kranjcar and Palacios combination. Essou Ekotto was replaced by Gareth Bale at half time but it was Aaron Lennon’s cross through the right hand side that had the first goal of the match through Defoe. Peter Crouch came very close to scoring the second for the visitors but Kranjcar’s corner at the 59th minute mark has Dawson escape his marker and drive a low shot for his successive Premier League goal.
Everton had 2 changes immediately with 2 goals down and Louis Saha and Yakubu replacing Jo and Rodwell. With 12 minutes from time, Coleman had a chance to deliver a ball across the line to Saha who finished the shot into the top of the net. Tim Cahill scored just 4 minutes from time into the match for the visitors which was the equalizer but the drama did not end there. The 2 minute mark of the injury time had given Tottenham a chance of winning with Hibbert’s challenge at Palacios but Defoe wasted the spot kick by hitting straight at Howard.
Meanwhile Wolverhampton Wanderers had their first BPL victory out of 8 matches at the Molineux Stadium with goals from Jody Craddock as early as the 2nd minute and Nenad Milijas in the 63rd minute. On the other hand, substitute Johan Elmander scored with almost 13 minute from time for the visitors.
