The Red devils closed the gap – Manchester United
The Barclays Premier League reigning Champions moved a step closer and within 2 points of the league leaders Chelsea with an emphatic victory at Upton Park. With Manchester’s defence looking shaky of late, many considered that it would be a run for the money for the Red devils but it was not quite so as United punished their opponents.
There was enough quality on the forward line for United while West Ham missed Carlton Cole and United went a goal up at half time when veteran midfielder, Paul Scholes had a fantastic strike from 20 yards into the goal by touching Greene on the way. West Ham earlier had some breaks with Di Santo but did not threaten the goal. After the break, United went up again through their young golden boy Darron Gibson when Giggs sent the ball for Gibson who unleashed a powerful shot into the extreme right. Valencia turned the tide and cleared all doubts with his own 71st minute goal while Wayne Rooney did score the final goal being assisted by Valencia. Damianti did have a chance in the second half with a terrific shot forcing a greater save by keeper Kuszack.
United has moved within 2 points of the league leaders and it is everything to play for in the league.
