Bentley looks to quit Spurs

David Bentley is reportedly desperate to quit Tottenham Hotspurs during the January transfer window following a confrontation with Harry Redknapp. Bentley was not even on the bench for the Wolves game over the weekend and has only had one start in the Premier League this season.

The behind-the-doors angry brawl happened during a friendly match last Tuesday between Redknapp and Bentley and now it seems that the doors of White Hart Lane will soon be closed for the latter. When David had joined Spurs 18 months ago, he was touted to be the next English star. But it seems like his career will need some revival and the 25 year old will have to foresee future elsewhere.

Bentley has off late lost his position to Aaron Lennon and has been out of sorts because of continually playing out of position. He now feels that Redknapp is not the one he will have a future under and he will have to hunt for greener pastures.

Manchester City boss, Mark Hughes who has been with him at Blackburn likes him and had made an offer during the Summer signing. But their player plus cash swap with Bentley and Bulgarian winger Martin Petrov didn’t work out. Now, Bentley is looking for anything that works and is very keen to start afresh.
