Rafa’s hot on Scott

Liverpool seems to be ready with a £6million offer for Scott Parker as the transfer window opens next month. The West Ham player of the year for 2008-09 is aggressive in the field and is known for his fast play. If the Parker move holds true then he would be an ideal replacement for Javier Mascherano who is set to move to Barcelona mid next year.

West Ham had purchased Parker for £7million from Newcastle in 2007 and has been a good performer for them. But this might be the only way the London club can come out of an awkward debt position. Manchester City during their player buying frenzy had also tried to grab Parker but the deal fell through. If this goes through for The Reds, then it might be the much needed boost their side needs.

Rafa Benitez, Liverpool Manager has been looking for measures to spruce up the performance of his ailing team. His boys have crashed out of the Champions League and also sit a lowly seventh in the Premier League table. The lowest hit them when they lost to Arsenal over the weekend in a Premiership encounter.

They will keep their fingers crossed for this deal going through as West Ham is stripped for cash. If the latter’s David Sullivan and David Gold takeover bid gets rejected then they will be forced to sell Scott Parker to be amongst the money.
