Arsenal is a team to reckon with in the ongoing Barclays Premier league and they are taking no prisoners this time. Last Saturday they made mincemeat out of the defense of Hull city at the Emirates stadium. Although the captain Cesc Fabregas could not make it to the field, the team did not lose its morale and they made sure that the victory was a decisive one.  The three amazing goals were scored by Denilson, Edurado da Silva and Abu Diaby. Last but not the least the penalty save from Manuel Almunia made sure that Arsenal fans went home with smile of victory on their faces.

Hull’s last visit to the Emirates stadium is not filled with very pleasant memories because of the bust up that took place on the pitch. Things started turning ugly a few minutes before half time just when Arsenal was awarded a free kick because of a foul.

During the first half stoppage time, a questionable free kick was awarded by the referee Steve Bennett Denilson utilized this opportunity to curl the ball into left corner past the diving goalie.  The half minute whistle blowing immediately did no good to the tempers, the occasional shove and push still continued as they made their way to the tunnel.

At the beginning of the second half, Hull City started off with great flamboyance but soon the ball was in Arsenal’s possession. Four minutes in to the second half and a little tugging of Craig Fagan by Mikael Silvestre resulted in a soft free kick for Hull City. Geovanni could not convert the opportunity into an equalizer as Almunia saved the shot with deft hands.

The next goal was perhaps the best example of the proverbial “walking the ball in” Eduardo simply tapped the ball in from a yard outside the line as he received it from Diaby. From then on Arsenal simply hogged the possession and did not give any goal scoring opportunities to the opposition.

At the blow of the whistle¸ both the bosses shook hands as a goodwill gesture; nevertheless we can expect a big brawl when Arsenal visits the KC Stadium this season.
