Aston Villa files past Stoke with their one goal victory.

Aston villa has proved once again who the boss is with their latest win in the Barclays Premier League against Stoke. Martin O’Neill’s side proved that they are at the top of their game by winning the game fair and square. The hard earned victory will most certainly bring the grins back to the fans faces as they saw their favorite side battle it out against some of the top rated players. The match was a treat to watch. The magnificent header by John Carew right after the hour mark drew a collective sigh of relief from the villa camp to say the least.
The game as very closely fought it remain undecided till the last leg of the second half. The Stoke team seemed like very tough opponent and they went off with flying start. But the Stoke team members could not keep up the pace and succumbed to the loss of possession several times during the course of the game. Although Rory Delap was absent from the line-up, Stoke was still a menacing side to play against.
Mamady Sidibe won a great number of headers all round the box but none of them could hit the bull’s eye and at the end of the match. Aston Villa keeper Thomas Sorensen made double save from the attempts by Stiliyan Petrov and Gabriel Agbonlahor.
Sixteen minutes late what seemed to be a valid header from Stoke striker Sidibe, but referee Lee Probert thought otherwise and called in a foul from the striker’s side. The first real opportunity for Aston came when Young sent a precise cross to Carrew, who did not waste the opportunity and turned it into a goal. The lead although slender was maintained by Villa till the end of the game and they managed to get all the three points on the table.
