Bellamy clashes with Mancini, future in doubt

Manchester City’s new boss, Roberto Mancini had an eventful first training session when he had a clash with Craig Bellamy. Mancini’s idea of double training sessions and ordering the players to stay in hotels the night before a game hasn’t found many claimant in the Eastlands side. Mancini was very forceful on the players and asked for 2 1/2 hours hard graft in his first training session itself.

What Mancini forgot was that Bellamy had a recurring knee problem and had been directed to undergo light training only. After 90 minutes of training, Bells told Mancini that he had had enough and his knee couldn’t take it any more. Bellamy along with captain Kolo Toure, who had a back problem were allowed to walk off the session.

The pair then led a six member delegation to the CEO over the sacking and the new regime. Former manager Hughes had set a special training schedule for Bellamy so he could play as many games as possible without troubling his knee. Reportedly, Bellamy was angry that the new coach was unaware of his knee problem and was re-considering his future at City.

It is also said that Keeper shay Given was also thinking of finding new avenues. This rage of the players is added to an already long list of woes for the new Boss of City. He currently faces the tough task of preparing his team for the Stoke clash with many players suffering with injuries. Nedum Onuoha (calf), Emmanuel Adebayor (ankle), Shaun Wright-Phillips (ankle) and Joleon Lescott (knee) are injured and will sit out the match.
