Burnley and Bolton Wanderers
The Saturday match between Burnley and Bolton Wanderers ended in a draw as both the team scored a goal each and had to settle for a point each in this highly contested match. Nugent headed a cross from Wade Elliot at the fifty sixth minute and that was the one and only breakthrough. The visitors were not to be left behind in this match. Bolton made its first breakthrough at the twenty ninth minute after Bikey was penalized for the challenge that he made on Davies. Matt Taylor stepped up for the free kick as the spectators waited with bated breath for the outcome.
The free kick was dealt with magnificently and from twenty yards the ball clearly beat Jensen to the post. Matt Taylor was ecstatic as he celebrated his fourth goal of the season as he received acclaim from the spectators by racing the entire length of the park.
The goal from Mark Taylor gave Bolton the boost they needed to rise from the bottom rung of the table and gain a respectable position at the leader boards. Bolton players were stung as they had lost only one league match at home till now and they were really hopping to clinch this match.
Eagles tried to take a nice shot from thirty yards away which goalie jussie caught with relative ease. Matt Taylor again got a chance to put a free kick from the same position as he had earlier scored from but this time the ball ended up striking the wall.
Burnley came very close to equalizing in the 50th minute when Kevin Mc Donald’s shot beat Jussi but came rebounding away from the crossbar. Nugent got it right at the 56th minute and scored the equalizer for Burnley and that is exactly how the score board remained till the need of the match and none of the efforts made by any of the team materialized to change it.
