Blackburn take on Manchester City tonight
Blackburn will be playing Manchester City tonight in a Premier League match tonight. The cold and snow has seen many cancellations during the past week and fans will welcome this encounter if the weather permits. The hosts are without the service of some key players but will still be the stronger side with the huge database of strikers they hold.
While Stephen Ireland has been ruled out with a hamstring injury, Nedum Onuoha will have to sit out due to a calf strain. Shaun Wright-Phillips has an ankle injury to nurse and Joleon Lescott, Michael Johnson and Wayne Bridge have knee problems. Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Adebayo are away on International duty at the African Cup of Nations. News suggest that if formalities for the transfer of Patrick Vieira are completed then he might be making his debut tonight.
The Rovers, on the other hand will only be missing the services of Vince Grella who is out with a thigh injury. Brett Emerton will be playing after his medical proved him fit. El-Hadji Diouf will be sitting out as he was suspended during the Aston Villa encounter previously.
City are riding high under Roberto Mancini’s leadership while the Rovers haven’t won a match in their last eight games of the Premier League. Having scored only four goals in these eight matches, Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce would surely be wanting a better game tonight.
