Tevez hatrick spurs Man City into a win

Roberto Mancini’s dream run with Manchester City continued as Carlos Tevez helped his side to win their Premier League encounter against Blackburn Rovers. It took a superb hatrick by the former United star to give City an emphatic victory over the Rovers.

A close range goal in the seventh minute by Carlos set the platform for the hosts and the lead was doubled by Micah Richards in the 39th minute. The second half saw a classy 20 yard goal by the Argentine gave City a 3-0 lead. The Rovers finally salvaged some pride through a 71st minute goal by Morten Gamst Pedersen. Extra time was when Tevez got the coveted third for himself and also the fourth for his team to defeat 4-1.

City were the dominating side throughout the match except for the last 20 minutes when the defenses started giving way. It was during this period that Blackburn scored their only goal of the match. The five-man midfield plan didn’t work too well for the visitors as they tried to cut the City speed through this setting. The formation was proved all wrong by the Manchester Club’s players right from the word go.

This win sent City in the fourth spot of the Premier League table.
