Liverpool Transfer News 2010

If the grapevine is to be believed then the Kops seem set to lose their Captain and mainstay Steven Gerrard owing to the string of bag performances by the team. Real Madrid seems to be the most likely club that Gerrard is eying for the Summers as he is hoping to be bid in the range of £30m. If this materializes then Liverpool will have be looking into a dark barrel with no hope in sight.

Steven has expressed concern over the team’s performance and feels that the team is unable to win any trophies currently. He feels the urge to win for the club he plays in and that is the major reason for him to seek a move. The England star doesn’t want to transfer to another Premier League Club and seems to be moving Spain wards.

While Real will have no problem in giving the money demanded by Gerrard, Rafael Benitez will surely have a task in hand to find an able replacement for the captain.

In the meanwhile, a striker swap deal seems to be brewing between Liverpool and Sunderland. The Reds want to exchange Ryan Babel for Kenwyne Jones to find somebody to replace the injured Fernando Torres. Amidst Sunderland declaring that Jones was worth £40m, Aston Villa, Birmingham and Stoke also seem to be interested in him and Rafa will have to do a thing or two to save the sinking Kops ship.
