Mancini tastes defeat, Everton outplay Man City
Roberto Mancini got the first whiff of defeat as Everton completely outclassed Manchester City 2-0 in a late night Premier League encounter. While the Italian has had a clean sheet so far since he took over the reigns, Goodison Park seemed to mark the downfall as City seemed to fall short of everything Everton threw at them.
It was an angled free kick off the boot of Steven Pienaar that gave Everton the lead in the 36th minute. Then in first half extra time, Louis Saha scored on a penalty to give an unfathomable lead to the hosts. Robinho had a bad outing as he was brought on as substitute for Roque Santa Cruz early but after a few moments of bad performance was called back.
Mancini’s boys had the chance to capitalise on the draw by Tottenham and if they had won they could have got the 4th position spot in the table. While City were anything were remarkable on the field, full points to Everton for bringing Megabucks Eastlands down.
