Tevez torments former club, City defeat United 2-1
The Carling Cup semi-finals last night saw the premier Manchester football Clubs, City and United go against each other. The first leg that happened at Eastlands saw Carlos Tevez show his former club, Manchester United what they lost as he scored twice to give Manchester City a 2-1 win.
Tevez had crossed paths in the summer after fans and management doubting his credentials. Last night’s goals must have gone a long way in silencing his critics at United. It was Ryan Giggs who gave United the start and scored from close range. It seemed that the visitors would pull off a win here and be in a strong position for the second leg next week at home.
But Tevez struck home a penalty to end the United party before half time itself. Then a header in the 65th minute sent the Eastlands roaring as City then made sure the difference stayed that way. This gives the hosts their first hope in 29 years to play in a Carling Cup final at Wembley. City coach, Roberto Mancini was a happy man as well after his side suffered a loss at the hands of Everton during the weekend action of Premier League.
