Brazilian Club Santos shows interest in Robinho
Robinho’s former Brazilian club, Santos are set to meet Manchester City officials to figure out a bid for the star. The signing is going to be in the range of £32.5m and Robinho might be taking a salary cut from his present £100,000 a week with City. The main reason it seems for his move is an attempt to concentrate on his international career.
While Robinho’s career at City was going through a rough patch, a move had started doing the rounds since the transfer window opened. He has reportedly had a talk with boss Roberto Mancini who expressed uncertainty over the number of games he would play. His humiliation during the Everton game when he came on as substitute, only to be taken off within 10 mins was the final nail in the coffin.
While Benfica and Juventus have also showed interest in the former Real Madrid striker, but he is pressing on returning to Brazil to pay attention to his international future keeping the World Cup in mind. The move is going to be a loan deal to start with. Santos seems to be choice for the star as this is the club he has grown up playing football in.
