Sunderland and Stoke battle out a goalless draw

Stoke got an unbeaten five match spree as they played out a hard fought draw with Sunderland. The 0-0 scoreline says nothing of the action that took place at Sunderland.

The action packed match between the two medium placed teams in the Premier League table saw both creating their own chances but none materialising. Dean Whitehead missed a very good chance in the third minute of the match but Craig Gordon stood in his way.

Kenwyne Jones was in action many times for Sunderland with a clear opening in the second half but the scrambling was blocked by Mamady Sibide . But the best chance for them was when in the 77th minute Fraizer Campbell failed to handle Boudewijn Zenden’s cross pass. With this draw Sunderland will heave sigh of relief as they have lost their last three matches.

While Chelsea will look to impose authority over the top spot, Hull will need any points they can get to jump out of the relegation zone. Didier Drogba will play this match along with Ricardo Cavalho. Chelsea didn’t have a very good match with Burnley over the weekend and would like to improve their performance if they are prove that they belong at the top. The match seems to be destined to be won by Chelsea as Hull aren’t going through the best of forms.
