Portsmouth administrator Andrew Andronikou hoping Blackburn Rovers seal Aruna Dindane deal

Portsmouth administrator Andrew Andronikou wishes that Blackburn Rovers can seal a deal with RC Lens and capture Aruna Dindane, so the striker can return to the south coast club and play for the rest of the season.

Pompey’s brittle state of finances meant that if the on-loan hitman made two more appearances, a clause would be triggered, which would in turn see the Fratton Park outfit having to pay the Ligue 1 side a sum of £4 million.

Rovers are currently in line to secure the signature of the former Anderlecht forward, and the administrator of the financially fumbling club hopes to witness a deal that will be beneficial to everyone.

“I understand that he had a medical last week and we are waiting to hear how that progresses,” Andronikou told Sky Sports News.

“If an agreement can be made between the two clubs then that will also assist us in releasing him to play the rest of the season for us.”

The administrator also hoped that midfielder Gary O’Neil would feature for Middlesbrough against Sheffield United and mark his 100th appearance for the Smoggies, which would in turn trigger a £1m payment to Pompey.

“I understand he has played 99 games for Middlesbrough. The 100th game will trigger a further payment to ourselves,” said Andronikou.

“Their CEO has come on record as saying they will pay that figure on his 100th appearance. We are all waiting for him to make that appearance.”
